Welcome to Rumson! Where high school life involves working at the mall and includes the normal characters of porn-starved pervs, bitchy princesses, football jocks, and everyone you used to hang out with. Except for Wrighty, the shambling, macabre mockery of a man who brings terror to the town of Rumson and leaves blood in his wake. But when he sets his sights on Molly, beauty queen of Rumson High, she’s going to be more than he can handle! THE DAILY SHOW and FRANK TV’s Brendan Hay brings a AMERICAN PIE-meets-FRIDAY THE 13th sensibility to his horror series debut!
Scream Queen is your classic pop culture high school story with a twist. The twist of course being a murderer/monster wanders the streets of this little town, and has a crush on our main character. (awww, they’d be so cute together too.) Written by Brendan Hay, this line of stories is sure to touch on some interesting topics. Also in the process I’m sure we’re set to see a hella lot of murders involving a lot of the cliché clicks that populate our culture and most entertainment industries today. (guess that’s just how life is though, one cliché after another.)
The story seems to have a very classic and well done story line. The artwork is great, and the story also has a nice flow to it. I’m happy to say so far so good. Usually it’s hard to like, or even know anything about the main characters during issue one. This comic however delivers exactly what you need to get into the minds of a few of the main characters, and already formulate who you like, and who you can’t wait to see viciously filleted. Needless to say I look forward to reading the other four comics of this five part series.
